Transgressive Cultures Conference, Paris

We fell in love with Paris last week!We were there to present our film In The Dark, Dark Room, and the book Little Houses, Big Forests (desire is no light thing) for the Transgressive Cultures Conference at the University of Chicago, Paris.The event was organised by Jack Sergeant and featured so many inspiring academics, thinkers, writers and artists, each highlighting the ever-growing importance of transgressive thinking and creativity in an increasingly conservative world.Thank you, Jack for the invitation and we hope to join another event in the future. 

  

Screening & Reading: Transgressive Cultures Conference, Paris

Our film 'In The Dark, Dark Room' will screen in Paris next week for the Transgressive Cultures Conference.

We will be travelling to Paris for the screening of our 2017 film 'In the dark, dark room' as part of a panel on transgressive literature and performance. Siouxzi will also be presenting her book 'Little Houses, Big Forests (desire is no light thing)' in France for the first time. She will perform an extract from the book and will be open for questions afterwards. The venue is the University of Chicago, Paris. Uferlos Studios in Cologne

Tomorrow we're heading to beautiful Cologne (Kölln) for the SAE Alumni Convention to hear about new developments and opportunities in the industry.We're looking forward to introduce our Studio to the wide network of SAE Alumni in the creative media industry.It will be a great chance to spend time with like-minded creative people to talk through our upcoming projects and proposals for the rest of the year and the year ahead.If you're also going and would like to make a time to meet, feel free to drop us a line at studio@uferlos.berlin. Residency next summer in Iceland

We're very happy to announce our residency in Iceland next summer.

In August 2018 we'll follow in the footsteps of some of our favourite writers and artists - Anne Carson, Roni Horn, Rebecca Solnit - for a residency at the Vatnasafn - Library of Water in Iceland.

We'll be using the time there for concentrated research and writing for an upcoming project on femininity and nature and its representations in several key texts and films. The focus at the Library of Water will be on the concept of 'bodies of water'.

Open studio at Mustarinda, Finland

[wpvideo g4hVK4Zh] The night before the super moon, we captured this impression of our studio at Mustarinda.We're having an open studio on Friday November 18 where Klaudia Domurat and Siouxzi Connor will present the very first impressions from "In The Dark, Dark Room" (2017),  our current project, along with a guide soundtrack and readings from the book it's based on. We're looking forward to hearing from the artists and curators at Mustarinda about their work too!
